Call VM and tell them that you lost your phone. They will offer to suspend your account until you find it or purchase another phone. After they begin to suspend it, they will offer you a replacement phone. Tell them you are interested in hearing about the phones and they should give you the replacement phone prices.

The replacement phones come with a phone and charger, no instruction manuals or manufacturers box or accessories (such as ear pieces). But, they are usually at least 50% off.

To get free minutes in the USA, you can use sugarmamma. Sugarmamma allows you to earn minutes by watching ads or responding to targeted text surveys. You usually earn a minute for each ad you watch, or each promotion you participate in. You can sign up on the virgin mobile website.

Another way to get free minutes is to use a promo code. Virgin mobile dissperses promo codes like there is no tomorrow, so they are very easy to find (check my previous post).

You could also get a free minute bonus by buying and activating a new phone. Phones such as the slice and slider sonic come with pre-bundled airtime. For example, the Slice comes with $20 to use for minutes and cheap ringtones.

Even further, you can earn minutes for virgin mobile by referring people to sign up. Every time you refer someone to VM USA, you get a kickback. Your first kickback is $10, then every person afterwards that you refer can get you $20, but there is a limit to 15 referrals per year. That's still a whole lot of free minutes, especially if you activate an account with one of the free phones from the website. You could buy say a $20 top up card and get a free nokia shorty, activate that nokia shorty with the $20 card, your original account will get a $20 kick back, and than you can cancel the nokia shorty account and then sell the nokia shorty on ebay. That would net you $40 in minutes, and then you could sell the shorty on ebay for $15, so with an investment of $5, you would get $35 in totally free airtime.
