Free Virgin Mobile Ringtones

Getting free ringtones for virgin mobile phones is very easy. You can get promotions and promo codes for ringtone downloads from virgin mobile, use a data cord to move ringtones to your phone, or you can subscribe to a web browsing plan (about $5) and download ringtones from a website, on your phone.

To download ringtones from your phones web browser, simply locate the URL of the ringtone you would like to download. For example, if you want to download a ringtone (we will use Fergie - Glamorous) you need to either upload the file to the web (putfile.com), or find the file already online. Regardless of how you find it, once you do locate your free ringtone, you need to write down the URL. Lets says the Fergie ringtone is located at Putfile.com and the URL is http://www.putfile.com/user23/fergieglam.mid.

You would type that url into your phones web browser, and then the ringtone would be downloaded to your phone automatically!

You can also use this method to get free wallpapers, screensavers, screen cleaners, and skins for your phone. Anything you can buy from VirginXL or VirginXtras, you can get for free using this method. Don't ever, ever pay $2.50 for a ringtone again.

If you have a song that you own and want to make into a ringtone, there are a lot of pieces of software called ringtone makers that you can use. You just select the 20 second clip you want to use as the ringtone, and then transfer the created file to your phone.

With phones like the Slider Sonic or Switch_back, you can use entire songs as your ringtone!

this is such a lie! i have the switch back phone and i tried this and it did not work!!

Which method did you try? Both my data cord and URI downloads work on my switchback...

If you did the upload method, where did you upload the file to? How did you attempt to download it?

I went into virginmobile on my phone, I clicked Menu and then GotoPage and then I typed in the URL of an audio file I uploaded on Putfile. One of the files I uploaded on my Putfile Media is http://media.putfile.com/Beautiful-girl-82. This did not work. Can you please explain how YOU got yours to work?

putfile was given as a very bad example. You need to upload it somewhere where you have direct access to the file, maybe putfile does this when you login? Your going to want to upload the file and direct your phones browser to the version ending in .midi

the link putfile gave you is to a webpage with a media player, what you want is to upload it somewhere where you have direct access to the file

i believe uploading it to a site like http://www.filefactory.com/ is what you want to do

:-)

forgot to add... your file should look like this

http://www.example.com/file.midi (being the exact file you uploaded)

point your browser to that file, and it should allow you to save it

so these are polyphonic ringtones and NOT real music ringtones???

Anonymous said...

.midi was only given as an example, regular tones should work on the switchback?

HOW?!?! i have tried numerous times.... i have the ringtones saved as mp3's but when i upload them the url does not end in mp3 (i.e. http://www.filefactory.com/file/f3ae7f) the file is saved as "file.mp3" on my computer.... do u have an example file that i can use on my phone that will work??

ummm does this really work?? or do i still have to pay???

Nice find! Works as advertised on my Switchback.

To clarify for others, upload your file to somewhere you can link directly to the file, not to a webpage where you can download the file. The file path has to end in the extension of the file, such as http://mydomain.com/myfile.mp3

I'm free from their stupid ringtone selection, and from their outrageous charges too. Thanks!

This doesn't actually work because Virgin doesn't allow downloading from internet websites. You can load mp3s but all it does is play them and say "This has been stored in Music" even though it isn't stored anywhere that you can find it. When it loads you can listen to it, but once you exit the screen you never see it again and I'm pretty sure it still takes up your memory even though you can't find it after that.

I've also tried having someone Multimedia message me with a ringtone, and the message still hasn't gone through and it's been 10 hours. This is all with my Slider Sonic.

Virgin isn't going to let you put stuff on your phone, and that's that. The only way I've heard is by unscrewing the phone apart and then stripping a USB cord and putting wires in places until it works.

I couldn't even play an MP3 on the phone that works from a browser.

I search the web once in a while for any way to get around VM's crippling of the Slider Sonic - so far no luck. It's really a shame, for the most part I like the phone and the service, but they can be very money-grubbing.

This is a policy that Virgin Mobile must change NOW. It's a form of false advertising. I purchased a data access plan for access to the INTERNET and now I find that i cant download software games/applications to my mobile from the internet. Many other cellular providers in the US are now offering cheaper and more open data access plans.

VirginUSA phones wont let u make ringtones from my experience and if so its a bitch 2 do and not worth it. If u like pre-paid phones that cant be tracked then there good phones but for ringtones and wallpapers are a rip off. The only downside to virgin.

It is easy to get free ringtones.I use phonezoo.com it works perfectly.Me and my cousin have downloaded tons of ringtones.First you register for your acount.Give your phone information and it will send a code to your phone and you copy the code to the page and it will verify your acount. Then you upload songs. After you do that you choose which part of the song you want for your ringtone. And then you can do it the easy way and buy a 1$ internet pass.Go to the website login and download it.

i have a Wildcard and when i try to download a ringtone that i made it tells me direct download disabled.... so what can i do?

Anonymous said...

same as guy above me. got a wildcard and it says direct download is disable .. whts up with tht ?

Anonymous said...

virgin mobile will not allow free ringtones or anything of that type free. I think only 1 phone at the moment can get anything it desires and thats the slider (100 dollar phone).

the rest are all locked/do not allow downloading etc.

Anonymous said...

i got the wildcard and i dont even recieve a message
somebody help me

Anonymous said...

what web sites can i go to get the free ringtones

Anonymous said...

Virgin Mobile phones can't obtain real ringtones or anything else 4 that matter, the only reasonable solution is to either pay the $2.50 for 30 seconds of a song or to take apart the phone and re-wire it

Anonymous said...

I guess You don't have a good phone then because my virgin mobile phone lets me download music to it for how ever long i want

Anonymous said...
